HRSA Awards $85M to Expand Access to Oral Health Services

HRSA recently awarded $85.3 million to expand oral health service capacity in government-funded health centers. Six grantees are in WA state.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently awarded $85.3 million to government-funded health centers, including six in the state of Washington, to expand their oral health service capacity through new and enhanced infrastructure.

The following Washington organizations were awarded grants:

  • Community Health Association of Spokane, Spokane, $300,000
  • North Olympic Healthcare Network PC Port Angeles, Port Angeles, $299,600
  • Peninsula Community Health Services, Bremerton, $300,000
  • International Community Health Services, Seattle, $299,953
  • Seattle Indian Health Board, Seattle, $300,000
  • New Health Programs Association, Chewelah, $300,000

The maximum award was $300,000 and the grant may be used for the following:

  • Renovate and modernize existing facilities
  • Purchase and install dental and radiology equipment
  • Purchase mobile dental units to provide better access to oral healthcare in hard-to-reach communities
  • Increase oral health integration through training and consultation
