Ditch the DSO & Go into Private Practice
Date: Thursday, October 16th, 2025
Time: 6:15pm-9:00pm
Location: Coming Soon!
Speaker: Rod Johnson, Omni Practice Group
About this Course: We all know Dental School is expensive and the post-graduation loan payments are no joke. This course aims to provide information for those contemplating their options, as well as those considering a change in their Dental Practice.
Course Description: If you're an early career dentist, you are getting told a number of different things as it relates to planning your career and the future of dentistry. You have DSO's claiming the sky is falling on individual practice ownership. Others tell you that you should be a career associate working for a DSO or an individually owned practice. In the back of your mind, you may have an itch to own your own practice, but have some reservations due to complaints you hear about staffing, insurance reimbursements and other challenges. This course will help you explore various options. Learn how you can work with the DSO's to further your career either as a lifetime associate or considering practice ownership. DSO's are here to stay and provide a valuable resource for early career dentists. Learn how to use them to your advantage and come away with a better, rosier view of the dental industry.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Differentiate between the professional and financial realities of DSO employment and private ownership.
Working with DSO's to help further your career, education and finances.
What's the truth on DSO's and individual practice ownership. (we've got a crystal ball)
What are the economics of being an associate in a DSO vs. owning a practice.
What DSO's can offer that private practice cannot.
How to decide which route is best for you.
What DSO's don't want you to know.
Learn from a seasoned dentist who has bought, owned and sold 15 practices
