WSDA Secures N95 & Surgical Masks for WA Dentists (6/23)

WSDA, the ADA and Delta Dental of Washington — has secured critical PPE for dentists. We have secured 340,000 NIOSH-approved N95 masks and 560,000 surgical masks from the Washington State Emergency Management Division to be shipped directly to dentists by The Dentists Supply Company (TDSC). As a benefit of membership, WSDA member dentists are hearing about this offer first and have a head-start on placing their orders.

What you need to know:

  • One free PPE kit is available to each actively practicing licensed Washington dentist.

  • Mask orders will be fulfilled and shipped directly to dentists by TDSC. The masks themselves are being offered at no cost, but there will be a $10 shipping and handling cost.

  • You must place an order through TDSC to receive your masks. To ensure the masks are being distributed only to licensed dentists within the state (regardless of WSDA membership status), dentists will need to have a FREE account and upload proof of licensure to place an order.

  • Click here to see tips on how to create a new account and reset your password. If you already have a account, you don’t need to create a new one.

  • For fastest processing time, please place a separate order for any other products you may need.

Order Your PPE Kit

Questions on account set-up or shipping can be directed to TDSC at (888) 253-1223. To learn more about the masks, click here.

Please Note: The model of mask we are able to provide is determined by availability from the Washington State Emergency Management Division and is out of WSDA’s control.

FREE PPE RESOURCE: King County Public Health

Certain PPEs are in Short Supply everywhere, another source that has been "partially" working is King County Public Health - would recommend dentists apply for PPEs from this resource with an understanding that you will probably not receive everything you request.

All weekly PPE requests must be submitted every Wednesday by 12pm at Please make sure to put your facility's address on the request because King County will not deliver to residential addresses. Additionally, King County will NOT provide PPE outside of its jurisdiction.

King County Public Health prioritizes PPE deliveries based on the State's tiering guideline (per Washing State Dept. of Health, dental facilities were Tier #2 at time of this posting last week of May).

(For the APPLICATION FORM) after following the link above
Scroll Down to the paragraph heading...
"Do you need supplies or staff for the COVID-19 response? "
Then click on link for the EXCEL file that will act as the Application Form for requesting supplies
Submit as instructed

Update 6/5: Submitted test order week of May 5/27, received confirmation email 9 day later on 6/5 - for partial fulfillment of that order - with an estimated delivery window of 5-6 days from confirmation. So a net total of 14-16 days.

Volunteers Sought

Dentists Helping Dentists our Patients and Community

SKCDS is looking for member dentists who are willing and able to provide emergent or urgent dental services during the pandemic so that other member dentists who may be high-risk or don’t have necessary PPE can find care for their patients of record.

Unfortunately, the number of patients requiring emergency dental care is increasing every day. SKCDS realizes not all dental offices are equipped or able to help their patients at the current time. A Dental Emergency - treated in a dental office takes 2 or 3 sets of PPEs; the same dental emergency - treated in a hospital emergency room will require at least 6 and up to 9 sets of PPEs and may not provide a definitive treatment.

Dentists wishing to volunteer for this may email
and provide: 1 Name, 2 City of Practice & 3 Email. The List of Volunteers will be compiled and updated in the RESOURCES section - a members only benefit.
