The goal of the Seattle-King County Dental Foundation, simply put, is to eliminate dental pain and infection in King County residents who need assistance accessing dental care. Since 1992, we have given away grants totaling well over $966,000.
Nobody should suffer for lack of basic dental care in King County. Our Foundation is dedicated to this important ideal. The Foundation works closely with the Seattle-King County Dental Society and its membership to achieve this goal.
On Saturday, March 17, 2012, the Seattle-King County Dental Foundation will host its 17th Annual Gala, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
We will be returning to the fun venue we used last year: Herban Feast, located at 3200 First Avenue. Like last year, we will have great wine tasting, a small live auction and a BIG FUN party! We will be encouraging you to dress in your finest cocktail attire… or come Celtic in a costume!
Why should you attend…?
- It’s a fun way to give! We’re going to have a short (10-12 items) live auction, a “raise the paddle” and then it will be all about dancing to a live band, visiting with friends and colleagues and having fun.
- We’re going to be offering some great wines for tasting and purchasing.
- There will be complimentary signature drinks in tune with our theme, a limited no host bar, free wine with a delicious gourmet dinner.
- There will be complimentary valet parking so no expensive downtown parking fees.
- What a great way to feel festive on St. Patrick’s Day!
Finally, in a unique joint effort with the medical community, we are funding oral and medical health projects. This further highlights the importance of dentistry in the community.
The Northwest Kidney Center Project. Kidney Dialysis patients must be infection free to receive a transplant. With over $150,000 donated to date, the Center has provided oral disease treatment for 52 patients on dialysis clearing them to receive life-saving transplants. Your contribution allows this program to thrive.
The Community Specialty Clinic at Swedish Hospital. In April 2011, three dental operatories will be operational, adding dental care to the newly opened medical Clinic. We envision the clinic providing one day—and ideally more—of treatment each month. By partnering volunteer general dentists interested in improving their specialty skills with volunteer specialists in a train-and-treat role, we can expand the care offered. Your investment will help supply and staff this critical dental safety net for our community.
